Could someone please explain to me the reasoning behind breeding only Blue to Blue and Red to Red nose pit bulls? I've heard they are entirely different types. I don't see that, what am I missing here?
Thanks
Leah

Bill Wright, people like you make nothing better. Constructive Criticism is what some of the irresponsible people need. Not extreme negativity.

Did your cat die yesterday?!?

ROFL!! I'm sorry but that's to funny. Mr. Wright is the only one here that seems to give people a hard time about breeding. Makes it feel like all the other mean forums at times. Unhappy

of course im going to give you a hard time for breeding,im against breeding to make a profit or breeding because a person thinks the dogs looks nice,,tell me why your dog deserves to be bred ,,with all of the, dogs out there in shelters, give one good reason why you should put more out there,,with all of the quality breeders there are, what do you offer that is any different than what they have?? what makes your dog so special that you feel the need to put more pups out there?? has your dog ever placed in a conformation show? has it won any weight pulls?? has it won at anything ??? or is it just a nice pet and you feel the need to breed it??

Well my dog does have awards and a considerable amount of speciality training, I don't feel the need to go on and on about it, for a simple question. I think a more tactful way to say breeding animals should show above average, temperment, conformation and trainability to a competitive level in one or more disaplines and then prove they can pass it on by complimenting or improving upon the mate, is just that.
No reason to jump to the conclusion that because a questions is asked, the person asking it breeding or consider breeding some scur. I notice Mr. Wright that your dogs lists of accomplishments is not listed anywhere? As someone who states they have been breeding for 20 yrs I would think there would be at least a short list of your dogs accomplishments, considering your repetitive reply to others.

WENT TO MR.WRIGHT'S SITE AND HE HAS ONE DOG BUT SHOWS PICS OF PAST DOGS HE'S OWNED.SAYS, ALONG WITH EVERYTHING ELSE,THAT HE IS A BREEDER.
1ST.OFF WHAT GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO BE A BREEDER AND NO ONE ELSE? GRANTED THERE ARE WAY TO MANY DOGS IN THE SHELTERS.WAY TO MANY PUREBRED AND QUITE A FEW MORE 'MIXES'.IT'S A SAD,SAD SITUATION............ MOST OWNERS THAT PLAY WITH THE IDEA OF BREEDING THEIR MUCH LOVED PIT,USUALLY ONLY BREED ONE TIME-MUCH MORE WORK TO IT THAN THEY THOUGHT AND WAY MORE EXPENSIVE. NOW THIS IS JUST A GUESS-WHEN THE ECONOMY WENT SOUTH AND SO MANY LOST THEIR JOBS [ POSS. EVEN YOU ] YOU WERE NOT ABLE TO AFFORD TO KEEP YOUR DOGS AND HAD TO SALE OR PLACE THEM IN HOMES.WHY ELSE WOULD YOU PLACE YOUR MUCH LOVED DOGS? NOW YOU HAVE A CHIP ON YOUR SHOULDER AND ANYONE THINKING OF BREEDING THEIR DOGS-YOU HAVE SOME THING NEGATIVE TO SAY. I APPRECIATE THE FACT THAT YOU ARE A 'GAME DOG' MAN.LOVE THE GAME DOG MYSELF AND HAVE SEVERAL GAME BRED DOGS [ SOME OF THE BEST OLD GAME LINES TO BE FOUND ]OUR SELVES.BUT JUST WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? A TRUE PIT BULL LOVER APPRECIATES ALL PIT BULLS-BULLY OR GAME NO MATTER WHAT THE BLOODLINES-REG.OR NOT. YOU ARE A SAD,SAD INDIVIDUAL MR.WRIGHT.....SOME ONE THAT HE TRIES TO MAKE EVERY ONE ELSE TROUBLE OR PROBLEMS-THAT HAS NOTHING GOOD TO SAY,BUT HAS TO THROW OFF ON EVERY ONE ELSE TO BE HAPPY HIMSELF.

and in those past dogs do you see any females???go take a look,do you see any females??? none of those dogs were ever bred, zeus was my lil brothers dog that was stolen out of our yard,he was never bred, killer was out of the same litter,he was never bred, although he won 2 weightpull events, but that isnt enough for me to want to breed him,the past dogs, the sire and dam to killer were adba champions.the rest of the litter were placed in homes were today i can go and see them,i know where the rest of the litter is,did i make any money off of them,no i gave the rest of the litter away,i spent alot of money on them and the dam and sire ,every dog had health checks, and for those who dont know, its more than just getting your pups wormed.does it say im a breeder.yes.why? because if i have quality dogs that do something worth breeding,i will breed, but they have to be quality and with a known background that i can trace for over 30 years. and the pups have to have a quality homes before the dam and sire are even hooked, the new pup on my page will not be bred until he can prove that he is worth breeding, where did i get him, from a quality breeder with champion lines,i can trace this pups lines for the past 100 years,i guarantee that none of you can do that can you??? why? because your a bunch of slack #$@! backyard breeders that will breed anything that looks sightly like a pit bull!

check again big boy-not only are our dogs apbr but also 'pr'ukc /adba and abkc.so throw around 'quality bred pit bulls' with a traceable lineage-anyone with the ukc/adba/abkc dogs can trace their lines back 100 yrs.
and yes-check out their ped's.not only are they 'ch' but most also uwpch, uwpvch as well as their parents,gr.parents,etc....
the issue i have with you is that you have to throw off on every ones dogs just cause your dogs are adba reg. out of champion lineage............so big #$@! deal.
you think your #$@! don't stink.think again!!!

We believe that people should never breed just for color/money but for quality/temperment. But if you have two dogs of the same color that have breeding quality/temperment and the pups wouldn't be inbred, then go for it. We think that people breed a blue to a blue to produce more blues and the same for reds.. they'll breed a red to a red to produce more reds. Their shouldn't be any problem with breeding a red to a blue.. it would just produce a more diverse colored litter of pups.
The Colby's prefered to not breed red noses... not sure why though... and back in that time their was no such thing as a blue nose or a blue APBT.
And on the subject of the OFRN (Old Family Red Nose) bloodline... a pure OFRN is completely red from their coat, to their nose, to their toe nails and if we remember right even their whiskers are red! So if a person says they have a pure OFRN and it isn't completely red, then they are mistaken.
As for 'rarity' and the APBT breed : One color is not any more rare than another color, possibly more unique but never more rare. What we personally believe to be somewhat more rare would be a pure APBT of one of the eldest original strains/bloodlines such as a pure Colby, Carver, Tudor, Corvino, Clark, etc. But their are so many breeders keeping the pure form of these bloodlines alive that they really aren't too rare. We personally also believe that these lines should cost more than a RE or Gotti because those are the original bloodlines and without them we wouldn't have the APBTs that we own or breed today, but for some reason that's just not the way it is.

No need to argue.. stick to the topic or don't reply.
Bill Wrights original post had nothing wrong and he's right .... breeding just for color brings the breed down (which we all agree with) and a blue nose/red nose is not a bloodline or type of pit, that is strictly the color of the nose and nothing more.
Now on the other half this crap, it was wrong to say we don't know our dogs lineage before we breed... a lot of breeders do know their dogs lineage but their are also a lot of breeders that don't. But does anyone notice how this has nothing to do with the topic...? That's a retorical question, just a point to be made.
