So lately my dogs tail has started to curl to touch his back, when he wants to get at something ,it goes straight but when he is chillinghe curls it into a circle, this doesn't work for me as it wont work in confirmation shows,so im thinking of offering him to one of my friends.i know it sounds harsh to some, but with these dogs i want correct features that will win a show and to present a great example of the breed. But im not sure i want to get rid of him because he is a damn good dog, personality wise, great temp, great drive. i just dont know anymore

Wow that is a hard decision. I understand wanting the best of the best for show and all.  But sometimes you best dogs are not always the most correct. Fortunately I haven't been face with this challenge yet but I am still young and I probably will. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.  SORRY

SOME WOULD CALL THAT A 'GAY' TAIL.A SERIOUS FLAW IN THE SHOW RING.I HAVE SEEN DOGS THAT BREEDERS SELL SUPER CHEAP BECAUSE THEY SAY THE PUPS HAVE A 'GAY' TAIL,BUT ISN'T.JUST CAUSE THEY ROLL TOWARDS THE BACK-AS LONG AS IT'S NOT CURLED TIGHTLY,DOESN'T MAKE IT A 'GAY' TAIL.I HAVE SEEN LOTS OF DOGS TAILS ROLL TOWARDS THEIR BACK WHEN RELAXED-AND SOME THAT WHEN INTERESTED IN SOMETHING.AND HAVE SEEN THESE SAME DOGS DO VERY WELL IN THE SHOW RING.
SO DEPENDING ON HOW CURLED THE TAIL AND YOUR PERSONAL LIKES-WHAT YOU CAN GET PAST AND LIVE WITH,IF THE DOGS OTHER TRAITS ARE JUST WHAT YOU LIKE.ISN'T HE WORTH KEEPING?

I'd say if that is your main factor, if you aren't sure of its gayness or not, I'd run it by a friend who might know more on the specifics of the tail? Or post a picture on here for people to give you some ideas to which the extent it goes gay?

That's a tough one man, sorry to hear it.

IT BOILS DOWN TO WHAT YOU LIKE AND CAN GET PAST AS FAR AS FAULTS IN YOUR DOG.AGAIN-PERSONAL PREFERENCE.I KNOW I HAVE HAD DOGS THAT EVERYONE ELSE JUST LOVED,BUT BECAUSE THEY HAD A FAULT-NOTHING SERIOUS-BUT I WOULD KNOW AND COULDN'T GET PAST IT.
GLAD HE WENT TO YOUR FRIEND...............ATLEAST YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE HIM AND KNOW HE IS WELL TAKEN CARE OF.

I would have said that if he only does that with his tail when he wants to get at something (like another dog)... try to socialize him with strange dogs so often to where he feels comfortable near them and doesn't want to get at them therefore his tail would stay straight and relaxed.
I'd say in that case it would kinda be considered his dominant tail/stance. A natural pack leader will try to show their dominance by having a stiff, curled, or kinked tail (some pups are born with a 'dominant kink').
From what we've read that a 'gay tail' is a tail that is always curled whether relaxed or not.... it is an unacceptable feature in the APBT because they simply do not have gay tails all the time.
