First day I dug a 48 feet ditch for the pipe to carry urine and feces from the kennel to a septic tank. It was tough with the weather rained on and off constantly. This will have 4" pvc pipe buried, and the lakyout of the property makes gravity in my favor so I think this will make cleaning so much easier.

Day 2 borrowed an auger with an engine on it and dug 14 post holes. It was terrible the ground here in virginia is super rocky.

Dude if you live out in the backwoods with barely any neighbors around, don't worry about a permit or zoning, even if you have a neighbor right next door, who says they have to know that you don't have a building permit, plus if your structure has less than 150 sq feet then you dont need one.

like the way its starting to look though, thought to myself, i need one built like that, and laying down the pvc pipe,im assuming that is for septic purposes, that was smart thinking, you have a great set up coming along. By the way, lookout for some guy around your way, a PI trying to get peoples dogs taken on bs accusations calling them dogfighters when they arent.

I think this happened to a guy near me....one of his dogs hung itself somehow and someone claimed he was fighting dogs and the state seized em all and he is in legal battles. Do you know the guys name?

Looking great.

For those keeping up with this and thinking about it themselves here are some ways to cut costs.

If you need tools and you have a Harbor Freight near you tools there typically cost 1/2 to 1/3 of what Home Depot charges.

For those near areas that have been hit by disaster or where there is active home building scrap piles can save you tons of money on wood for building, leftover shingles and in some cases chain link fencing. If your really looking to cut cost you can even salvage nails and straighten them out for re-use. It should be noted however to anyone that is scrapping you must first get permission. If you do not you set yourself up for being blamed for theft. ALWAYS get permission.

Scrapping takes time and more work is involved but for those who have more time and energy than money it can be a great way to build housing for your dogs, sheds, whelping boxes, etc.

Agreed I got a great deal on my chainlink from a friend that owns  construction company and had left over materials. He still has some if anyone is interested
