Yesterday I decided to take my Hurricane out to Petsmart haven't taken him since he was a pup. I was amazed by all the attention he got. People was amazed how very well socialized he was. Alot of people asked to pet him because they never interacted with a pitbull before. I had kids from about the age of 4 all the way up to this lady in her late 60's come up to us giving much love to Hurricane and he showed his gratitude by licking them to death. I was planning on staying in the store about 30 minutes but with all the attention I stayed about 2 hours. I had a couple of conversations with people about how they thought all pitbulls were mean and I told them they are just like any other dog its all about how you raise and socialize them. I dont think you can educate everyone about pitbulls because some people will always have there perseption of this breed anyway. But in my trip yesterday I think I persuaded a few people.
They are the best dogs period. The have the drive, strength, courage, and athletic ability to be the best working dogs. They have loyalty and love that make them great pets. Aside from that they are just gorgeous! Anytime you take them in public that is whats going to happen. Little kids in my neighborhood jsut see a dog, they arent afraid and dont understand the different breeds and they love my dogs. Their parents always yell at them to get back in the house when im walkn my dogs but the kids are drawn to them.
Patches always goes with me to Petsmart to go buy her supplies and they just love her there. The cashiers are always gibing her cookies, and everyone there is always wanting to pet her. She just loves the attention too! It's a great thing showing people that just cuz your dog is a pit does not mean that she is a bad dog. I;m proud to say that whenever we have gone to the store that Patches is actually one of the better behaved dogs in the store! 
I go to Petsmart on a regular bases. I get occationally people with there other dogs backing one actully told me to get my dog away. I told her they were friendly and she said I don't trust them. I rolled my eyes and walked away. I always have people come up to Nyla and love her sometimes I get parents who don't want there kids touching her. I have gotten asked is she a pit because she doesn't look like one and I just reply this is what they look like. I have gotten all kinds but for the most part its a pleasent experence.
