View MoreShe loves sun and the snow and is in the process of training to be a Pit Bull Service Dog to be provided to a disabled veteran. We chose the pattern for several reasons one of which is how it matches with a military theme thus the name Camo. If you know of a disabled veteran who may benefit from her service we hope to have her basic service training wrapped up this year and would be happy to consider them for her placement. The pattern is caused by the Merle gene, which is rare in Pit Bulls but has been tracked back to the early 1900's. There is much controversy about the genetic trait with some trying to claim it not pure to the breed due to misinformation that was developed in response to internal politics in the Registration industry in 2005 when some other registries changed their standards. People who make this claim are simply uneducated to the facts and many do not want to accept the facts even though they have been well documented in history. At the APBR we do not play the same politics as other registries do and will not be held to their wavering standards. We love Merle and all purebred Pit Bulls. Regardless of the opinions some have or their reasons for having them our foremost position is to support all purebred Pit Bulls and their owners.
