Its never to old its how hard you work them. Take ur time as u move up in weight. Make sure you have them at the right height

see in his picture how the back of the weight belt is almost level from front to back. If you don't have that level you will pull the dogs back legs down to the ground. that makes it harder on the back and they will just lay down.
