you are correct in assuming that it is after whelping, lets remember,a dog is a puppy until 2 years of age.plenty of time to notice if there any defects and to see if it fits my program.why dont i just go out and buy another one, well, there are certain things i look for, someone else may not have what im wanting, second,i dont believe in contributing to so many dogs in the shelter's.i keep maybe one or two, then place the others that have already gotten homes before the dam and sire are even bred.
ive only had to ever cull 3 dogs, and they were defected, the rest are still kickin and living great lives.dont get me wrong,im not saying kill em all.but i have what i have and it never gets into an untrusted persons hands.i dont believe the general public should have their hands on these dogs.some individual that doesnt even know anythign about these dog's should never own one,and theres a good reason for it,BSL,idiots using pit bulls for protection.i keep my dogs to myself and trusted close personal friends.
