We just bought the second publication of the Colby's Book of the American Pit Bull Terrier and in this book there is a picture of a female APBT by the name of Colby's Lucy. This picture shows her having a brown right eye and a blue left eye!
The caption of the picture says "Colby's Lucy (9/30/92), bred by Louis Colby, owned by John R. Colby of Duncanville, Texas. Lucy, as is San Peur's Ch. Pepper, is granddaughter of the famous Heywood's Rasbree (a pure Colby bitch).
We searched for her on google to see if their was any info., pictures, or even a pedigree to share for educational purposes but came acrossed nothing but a dog by the name of Colby's Lucy Mae (different dog) and GR CH Sans Peur's Colby Pepper (6xw).... this is NOT the right dog either, the name is different and based off of the picture in the book of Colby's Lucy, they look nothing alike. Colby's Lucy has almost an all white face except for the dark coloring on her nose and both ears, she also has a jagged circle around her brown right eye. If you have this book, it is on the top of page 164.
The reason we are bringing this up is because she most likely has a complete pedigree, because she was bred by the Colby family and they have done and still do keep track of all their pedigrees and other related records. This is our proof that blue eyes have always been and still should be accepted as a purebred APBT by any and all registries. This is proof that the UKC bases their facts off of personal opinion, and they claim blue eyes are a fault for no reason.
