To be honest I was like alot of people, scared of pits, they were bad dogs!!!! Well in May of 2008 I found Mia, when they told me she was a pit (AmStaff) I was a little worried about bringing her home but that cute little puppy face melted my heart. So we had her for about 3 months and I was in love and my fiance fell in love with her as well so we went looking for another pit to add to our family. I found a beautiful fawn and white male that was 3 months old and the people had him living in a 4x4 plywood box with a muddy floor outside. Needless to say we were not leaving him there. He was covered in fleas and ticks with his ribs showing. He also had an underbite, he was always smiling!!!! So off he went with us to meet Mia, they hit it off. Then in March of the following year we decided to add another sweet pit to the crew. So I started looking at rescues in Nashville and found Maddox, my pit/mastiff. We went to meet him and of course he stole my heart so home we were headed. When he met Mia and Memphis, he buddied up with Memphis b/c everybody loved Memphis. So we were happy and my breed of choice was the pit . . . . period!!! They had proved that everything that I had thought I had known about them was soooooo far from the truth. So then in the summer of 2010 I was at work when someone dropped off 3 brindle pit puppies. Well I wasn't leaving them there so home they went with me. I knew I couldn't keep them seeing as our house was flooded in the May flood and we were staying with my mom while rebuilding our home. So I took the pups off to the vet, started their shots, worming, flea control, everything . . . did I mention this was 3 days before my wedding! So I got in touch with a rescue who took in pits. She was a very sweet lady who took all 3 and found them all new homes, she still keeps in contact with me to this day with updated pictures of the crew and how they are doing in their new forever homes!!!!! Then for Christmas of 2010 I surprised my husband with the one thing he always wanted a blue pit. Mason joined the family, so by this time our house was finished, we were back in and the dogs now had 5 acres again to play on. So 4 pits and we had pretty much decided we had enough babies, well March of 2011, my birthday. My husband brings me home a sweet blue pit puppy, Miley. So we had 5 pits, everyone got along just one big happy family, until 3 days after my birthday when we had to put down Memphis. My heart broke into a million pieces and it is only the second time I have seen my husband cry. He was the best dog we have ever had and I miss him with everyday that passes. So basically pits opened my eyes to how great they are and that everything you hear about them is WRONG!!!! My pits are my kids and I will love the breed forever and you will never find anything but a pit in my house.

If you would have added that I wouldn't have said anything.. wasn't trying to be rude. I just like to get the point across when I can. Too many people are breeding for color and when those people read this that'll be two people that agree color is not a reason to breed!!
I would never breed for color or any other stupid reason. This will be the only breeding before both our male and female will be fixed. My pits are my children and everyday like everyone else on here I have to go through people being scared of my dogs and saying they are bad. In that I train my dogs... View More

You have to understand that most of the time when people ask questions like you did... they usually are planning a breeding for the wrong reasons like color, size, 'rarity', etc. That's why I made my statement. But in the blogs (somewhere, not to sure how far back) are a couple of posts about geneti... View More

I raise blues, but the top two things I raise is for temperment, and intelligence. the color is a bonus.
